28932 Private Herbert Percy Hart was born in 1885, son of the late Charles & Sarah Hart of Earls Colne.  Moved to Wivenhoe Cross sometime between 1901 & 1911 Censuses.  His marriage to Ivy Buttercup Pittick of 1 Claremont Villas, Wivenhoe Cross was registered Apr- Jun 1912 in Tendring District.  Employed as a Postman.  Enlisted in 2nd Bn Essex Regiment  at Colchester.  Died from exposure 16 December 1916, aged 32 during one of the Battles of the Somme.  No known grave.  Named on Thiepval Memorial (Somme) Pier 10, Face D.  Not named on Wivenhoe War Memorial.
