Tom & Nib Wise who ran The Park Hotel from the mid-50s to 1961

I am Wendy Tompkins (nee Wise) eldest daughter of the late Tom & Nib Wise who ran the Park Hotel from middle 50s until October 1961 when we moved to Dunstable. Mick Mckee & his family took over from my Mum & Dad.

We still come back to Wivenhoe as we come to see Shirley Amos (nee Stone) who has been our family friend for over 60 years. Don’t know if people remember but Bob & Vi Page lived in the flat on the top floor of The Park Hotel until they moved into their prefab in Rectory Rd.

Sadly all close contacts have now passed away. Wivenhoe holds a very special place in my heart, with lots of happy memories.
