In the Name of god Amen I Edward Woodthorpe of Wivenhoe in the County of Essex Wheelwright
being Sick in Body but of Sound Mind Memory and Understanding Do make my last Will and testament in manner
and form following Whereas Edward Woodthorpe late of Wakes Colne in the said County of Essex Farmer deceased my
late Uncle did in and by his last will and Testament give and bequeath unto me the sum of forty pounds which is now in the
Hands of James Patten of Wakes Colne aforesaid Farmer and Robert Nunn of Little Tey in the said County Farmer Executors of the last will and testament of my said uncle had which sum of forty pounds and Interest I dispose of as follows First I
Give Devise and Bequeath unto my Father Phillip Woodthorpe of Colchester in the County of Essex the sum of five pounds
Also I Give Devise and Bequeath unto my Brother Phillip Woodthorpe the younger of Colchester aforesaid Carpenter the sum
of four pounds, The remainder of the said sum of forty pounds and Interest after the said legacies of five pounds and four pounds shall be paid I Give
Devise and Bequeath unto my Loving Sister Mary Woodthorpe of Colchester aforesaid Spinster her Heirs and Assigns for Ever But
my mind and will further is that in Case my Said Sister Mary shall happen to Marry in the lifetime of her mother Sarah
Woodthorpe
and shall depart from her and not dwell with her as she now doth that then and in such Case my said sister
Mary Woodthorpe shall pay or Cause to be paid unto my loving mother the said Sarah Woodthorpe the sum of fifteen
pounds out of the remainder of the said sum of forty pounds given to her as aforesaid and my mind and will further is that in
case my said mother shall happen to die before my said sister that then and in such case I give the whole to my said sister Mary and her Heirs for Ever Also I Give and Bequeath unto my loving Father Phillip Woodthorpe the Elder my Silver Watch
All the rest and residue of my personal Estate Wearing Apparel of what nature in Kind Soever I Give unto my loving Mother
Sarah Woodthorpe and my Sister Mary Woodthorpe to be equally divided Share and Share alike between them And I do hereby
nominate and appoint my said mother Sarah Woodthorpe and my sister Mary Woodthorpe Executrixes of this will last will and
Testament.  In Witness whereof I the said Edward Woodthorpe the Testator have hereunto set my hand and Seal this
Twenty Sixth Day of July in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty five
