Carol Singing on The Quay - 2014

The Christmas lights which are put on the Church and in the streets add a real sparkle to Wivenhoe

The big Carol Singing event on the Quay, led by the Rector Erwin Lammens, was held on Sunday 21st December 2014. This year there was a brass band comprising 20 musicians who accompanied a crowd of maybe 400 people who thronged the Quay. Erwin and his colleagues from other Churches in Wivenhoe stood on the balcony above the crowd and who told the Christmas story and introduced the carols. The Rose & Crown provided mince pies for everyone after the service had ended. It was a very lovely and sociable event.
