Fete on the Field - Summer 2016
A fun family day organised by the Mayor and other Councillors
Frances Belsham
Another enjoyable event on King George Field. It had all the necessary components to make it a fun family day. There was music, food, stalls, races for the children and of course the parents races with certificates presented by the Mayor to the many winners of individual races. Parent winners getting an especially loud cheer.
In addition there was a dog show and a demonstration by the Wivenhoe Fire Service which showed what happens when a chip pan fire is doused with water. Quite spectacular but with a serious message.
The Bands were excellent with a really good mix of music. There was also music from Broomgrove School choir with one tune being enacted with sign language as well as music.
All in all it was a lovely family day.
