The Silver Queen Bus

In Clacton

Added by Pat Marsden

A load of happy holidaymakers about to depart on a Silver Queen charabanc excursion from Rosemary Road, Clacton, for a tour of the Essex countryside, including Wivenhoe. The Silver Queen stand was on the site of the present Edinburgh Woollen Mill shop at the junction of Rosemary Road and Pier Avenue.

  • The lady’s head and white hat in the back left just obscures the plaque on the building which says Mayell Villa.

  • The location is incorrect, Clacton-on-Sea rather than Wivenhoe.

Graham Wadley has correctly identified the location as the now demolished Mayell Villa, Rosemary Road Clacton.
