429. Sarah HARRINGTON of Wivenhoe, Single Woman, 1746. D/ACW 29/6/17

In the name of God Amen I Sarah Harrington of Wivenhoe in the County of Essex Single woman
being weak in Body but of sound and perfect mind and memory at the sealling hereof do this Thirtieth
Day of January one Thousand Seven hundred fourty five make and ordain this to be my Last will and
Testament in manner and following First I Give my Soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave
It me and my Body I Commend to the Earth to be Decently Buried at the Discretion of my Executors
Herein after named and as touching such wordly Esate as it hath pleased God to Bless me with
I dispose thereof in manner and form following (that is to say) I do hereby order Devise and
Bequeath all my Copyhold Lands Messuages Tenements and appurtenances to the same belonging or in
the Mannor of Greensted in the Town of Colchester to be sold by my Executors herein after named
for the best price that can be got within twelve Months next after of my Decease and the money arising
from the sale thereof to be taken and Deemed as part of my personal Estate, and out thereof I do order
my Just Debts and funeral Charges and the Probate of this my Last Will and testament to be paid and what remain
thereof I do Give one halfe part to my Aunt Mason; and the other half part thereof I Give unto
my uncle John Layman and my aunt Hannah Layman to be Equally parted Between them
I also give to my Aunt Hannah Layman one grey Silk Gown my best Stays and a Silver Chain, I also give to my
Uncle John Layman one Gold ring one large Silver Spoon I also to my cousin Mary Bayley my my Mantolett
and Light Coullerd Silk Gown: I also give to my Cousin Susan Bayley my blue Silk Gown and petticoat
I also Give to my Sister in Law Sarah Wright my red Camlet Gown and one black silk petticoat.  I also Give to
my father in Law John Potter two brass Candle Sticks one China Bowl and one Gold ring.  I give to my Cousin
Mary Mason Six Silver tea Spoons.  I give to Robert Mason my Silver Cupp.  I give to my Cousins Layman Mason
and John Mason one Guinnea to buy Each of them one Silver Spoon.  I Give to my cousin Sarah Kingsbury
one pair of silver buttons and my Gold Locket.  I give to my Cousin Mary Kingsbury my Silver Corall
All the rest of my goods wearing apparrel and Linen not herein bequeathed I Give unto my Aunt
Anne Mason  I do hereby revoke all former Wills Legacies and Executors before made and I do hereby
(and I do hereby) order and appoint my Father in Law John Potter and my uncle John Layman
to be Executors of this my last will and Testament.  In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my
my hand and Seal the Day and year above written
