In the name of God Amen
I Thomas Stephens of Wivenhoe
In Essex Marriner Being at this
Time sound & perfect in memory
Doe make this my Last Will and
Testament in manner and form following
First I commend my soul to almighty
God and my Body to the Earth to be
decently Buryed at the Discretion of
my Execut[o]r herein after named and as
to my Estate which I have to Dispose
of I give as follows one half of
that coppy hold house or Tenement where
Elizabeth Rand now dwells
to be sold by my Execut[o]r to pay my just
Debts & funerall Charges and to pay to my
now Loving wife Ann Stephens the
sum of ten pounds out of the same
& what shall then remain I give to
my Children equally alike and I further
give to my Loving wife all my household
goods as they now stand in my house
where I now Dwell above stairs and below
and I doe Constitute and appoint Mr
Samuel Roberts of Wivenhoe Baker
to be Executr to this my Last will
and Testament   Turn Over
and doe make void all former wills
that shall appear before this In
witness whereof I have here unto
set my hand & seal this Seventh
Day of April 1740
