410. Mary CHEASBROUGH of Wivenhoe, Widow, 1740. D/ACW 28/7/35

In the Name of God Amen I Mary Cheasbrough of Wivenhoe
In the County of Essex, Widow.  Being weak of Body but of perfect mind & memory
At the Sealing hereof do this Twenty fifth day of February in the Year of
our Lord one Thousand Seven hundred thirty eight
Make & ordain this my Last will & Testament in manner & form following, first and
Principally I Commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God who Gave it me, & my Body
I Commend to the Earth to be Decently Buried at the discretion of my Executors hereinafter
Named.  And as touching such wordly Estate as it hath pleased God to Bless me with I dispose
There of as followeth.  I Give to my Son John Cheasbrough all my Goods, Chattles Ready Money
Plate & Debts that shall be due or owing unto me at the time of my Decease he paying my just
debts & Funeral Charges But if it shall so happen that my son John depart this life under
the Age of Twenty one years and leave no issue then I Give to my Kinsman Jonathan King
my Silver Pott Six Silver Tea Spoons & tea Tonges, and all the I Likewise give to my two Kinsmen
Samuel & Martin King to Each of them three Large Silver Spoons & all the Rest of Goods &
Chattles I Give to my said Kinsman Jonathan, Samuel, & Martin King or survivors
of them to be parted Equally between them Share & Share alike if my Said Son dye under
the age of Twenty one years & Leaving no issue as aforesaid.  I also Give devise &
Bequeath unto my Son John Cheasborough and his Heirs for Ever All that Copyhold
Tenement with the appurtenances to the same belonging holden of the manour of Wivenho
now in the Occupation of William Gentry or his assigns.  But if it shall happen
that my Said Son John shall Depart this Life before he attain the Age of Twenty one years
and leave no issue (or dye intestate) Then I Give & bequeath all the Said Copyhold
Tenement & Appurtenances to the same belonging unto my Kinsman Martin King and
his Heirs for Ever.  But if the Said Martin King Shall Depart this Life before he
Attain the Age of Twenty one years and Leave no Issue then I Give and bequeath all the
aforesaid Copyhold Tenements with the appurtenances unto my Kinsman Jonathan King
and his Heirs for Ever.  But if it shall (so) happen that my Kinsman Jonathan King
Shall Depart this Life before his Brother Martin King then I Give all the aforesaid
Copyhold Tenement with the appurtenances to the same belonging unto my Kinsman
Samuel King and his Heirs for Ever,  And of this my Last Will and Testament I
hereby make and ordain Peter Robertson of Wivenhoe Common Brewer and
Henry Crooks aforesaid Sail Maker to be Executors hereby revoking all other
Former Wills Testaments and Bequests here to fore made ratifying and
Confirming this to be my Last Will and Testament.  In witness where of I the
Said Mary Cheasbrough the Testatrix have here unto set my hand seal
the day and year first above written.
