In the name of God amen I Elizabeth Brown
Of Wivenhoe near Colchester in the county of Essex being sound of mind and
Understanding to make this my last will and testament that is to say and first
My will and mind is that my funeral and all other expenses paid by my executor
hereafter named Secondly I do give & bequeath unto my loving
Daughter Susan Falkner of Long Lane Burton on Trent the sum of
Thirty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain & one of my Silk
Gown & two Cotton Gowns & two Petticoats & thirdly to my loving

Daughter Judith & Mr Elsworthy of Wivenhoe aforesaid All the Articles that is
now at Wivenhoe aforesaid consisting of one Feather Bed Bolster & Pillows
one Counterpane one Quilt two Blankets one Curtain 13 Tea Spoons 1
Pale Spoon two Table Spoons 3 pair Sheets one Table Cloth a set of Fire
Irons best Silk Gown and White Camburk Gown & Petticoat which I value at
Eleven pounds Borrowed money nine pounds & ten pounds of lawful money
of Great Britain which makes thirty pounds for their trouble & expenses during
my illness forthly to my loving Daughter Mrs Elizabeth Knight of
Buckingham Street Fitzroy Square London the sum of ten pounds of lawful
money of Great Britain Fifthly to my Niece Mary Ann Lee the sum of
ten pounds of lawful money of Great Britain Sixth and lastly the remainder
of my money and Furniture to my eldest son Mr John Sowell of Whitechapel
Cabinet Maker I hereby declare this to be my last Will a Testament
canceling all former Will or Wills by me made I hereby set my hand
& Seal appointing Mr Daniel Douglas of St. Martin Lane Charing
Cross London Musician my Ex[ecut]or to this my Said Will Elizabeth
Brown her Mark Aug 13 1810 Signed & Sealed in the presence of
Witness Daniel Douglas Charles Knight

It is my desire that the within mentioned Legacies be paid within
a twelve month after my decease.

Proved at London with a Codicil 8th April 1811 before the
Wors[hi]p[fu]l Thomas Edwards Dr of Laws by the Oath of Daniel Douglas
sole Ex[ecut]or he being first sworn duly to Administer Susan Falkner (wife
of Wm Falkner) Judith Sowell oth[erwise] Elsworthy Sp[inste]r Eliz[abe]th Knight (Wife of
Charles Knight) & John Sowell the natural & lawful & only Children
having first consented as by Acts of Court appear.
