416. George CRISP of Wivenhoe, Mariner, 1743. D/ACW 29/3/16

In the Name of God Amen I George Crisp of Wivenhoe in the
County of Essex Mariner being sick and Weak but of sound and perfect disposing mind
And memory (praise god for the same) do make this my last Will and Testament for also
In manner and form following first I give my Soul into the hands of God that
Gave it hopeing for remission of all my sins through the merits and mediation of
Jesus Christ my Saviour and only redeemer and my Body to be decently buried by
my Executor herein after mentioned and as to those worldly goods it hath pleased God to
bestow upom me I give and bequeath in manner and form following First I
give and bequeath to Mary Crisp my loving Wife All my Household Goods and
my my fishing Smack called by the name of the Friends good Will and all Utensils
thereunto belonging to the said Smack and Seven Pounds of Lawfull Brittish
Money Secondly I give and bequeath to my Brother John Crisp One Guinea
and the best of my wareing Apparel the money to be paid within One Year next
after my decease and the cloaths immediately Thirdly I give and bequeath to
my Brother in law Wm Carter One Guinea to be paid to him by my Executor within
One Year next after my Decease Fourthly I give and bequeath to my Brother
in law Wammack five shillings to be paid him by my Executors immediate
=ly after my decease and I give five shillings a Piece to two of his Children
which he had by my sister Fifthly I give to my sister Francis Gooddy five
pounds of Lawfull Brittish Money to be paid her by my executor immediately
after my decease Sixtly I give to my said Sisters son George Gooddy five
pounds to be paid by my Executor in manner Following that is to say Twenty
shillings immediately after my decease and Twenty shillings a year for four
year after and if the Child should dye before the said five pounds is all paid then
my Will is that the rest shall be paid to my to my Sister Francis Goody Seventhly
I give and bequeath to my Kinswoman Sarah Crisp two Guineas to be paid her
by my Executor within One Year next after my decease Eightly I give and bequeath
to my Grandson George Webb Three Guineas to be paid to him by my Executor
within One Year next after my decease Ninthly I give and bequeath to my
Daughter in law Mary Thorp three Guineas to be paid to her by my Executor
within One Year next after my decease Tenthly I give and bequeath to Sarah
Fincham my Kinswoman One Shilling Guinea to be paid to her by my Executor immediately
after my decease Eleventhly the rest and residue of my personal Estate whatsoever
and Wheresoever I give and bequeath to be equally divided between my Wife
and Francis Goody my Sister and my Kinswoman Sarah Crisp (excepting my
best Jacket and a pair of Cloth Breeches with plate Buttons) which Jacket and
cloth Breeches with plate Buttons I give and bequeath to my Servant
Richard Michaelfield Twelthly and lastly I do Nominate and appoint my
loving friend Richard Easby of Wivenhoe aforesaid to be my sole and wholly
Executor of this my Will revoking all other Wills by me formerly made and
Declaring this to be my last will as witness my Hand and seal this ninth
Day of May in the Year of our Lord One Thousand and Seven hundred and forty and
Three
