Memorandum
That, upon the fourteen day of October, in the
Sixteen year of the reign of our soverign Lord George King
Of Great Brittain, & Anno Dom, one thousand seven
Hundred and forty three, I Elizabeth Hann, in Wivenhoe, in
the County of Essex Widdow, being,very weak, in body, but
of a, sound and disposing minde, and memory, but considering
the uncertainty of this mortell, life, doe, for, the settling of
my Estate, which God, in mercy Hath Given me, make, and
ordain this my last, Willand Testament, in manner, and
forme, following:  and make voide all former, wills
and Testaments, by me made
Imprimus I give and bequeath, unto, my loving son, William Hann and
his heires the Cheminy Glass over the Cheminy piece in the parlour
and also, all the furniture, as now stands, in the little chamber
called the Green room.
I also Give and bequeath unto my Loving daughters Mary Hann
Spinster: and Elizabeth Arthy wife of Joshua Arthy Baker, all
other, my Effects: Goods and Stock in trade and Chattells whatsoever
-after my just debts and Funerial Charges, and probate of this, my
Last Will, and Testament are all paid Equal share alike as they
shall be valued, by two in different persons chosen I doe hereby
order and appoint my said daughter Mary Hann: above said Executix
of this my last Will and Testament  – Revoking all former
Wills hereto before, made Rattifying and confarming this to be
And containing, my last Will and Testament in Witness
Whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale this fourteen

Codicil to my Last Will and Testament and
to be taken as part of my sayd Will and Do Give
and Dispose of my Household Goods and furniture
hereinafter mentioned To my Daughter Mary
Hann for her own Sole use and Benefit.In
Consideration of the Good Service Done by Her
to me in my Trade of Shopkeeping During my
Widowhood – In manner following
Imprimus A sconce Glass a Great Mahogany Table
in the Parlour a Dressing Glass The Yellow Bed
Bedstead, Curtains, Bolster, Pillow, Featherbed
and all other furniture thereunto belonging
the best Stove, Fender, fire shovel Tongs, and
Poker – A large Tea Kettle a large Boyler
a large Brass Kettle – a Frying Pan – three Sauce
Pans – a Brass Coffee Pot – a little Box Iron and
Heaters – a Coal Rack Fenders Firepan, Tongs
Toasting Iron, Poker and other utensils thereunto
belonging in the Kitchen – a pair of Brass Candle=
=sticks – Six Pewter Dishes – Two Soop Dishes
a Dozen pewter plates – a Pewter Collinder – Six
Knives and Six Forkes w[i]th ivory hafts – and Two
Knife Boxes – a large Oval Table in the blue Chamber
The Clock and Case on the Stair Case a Walnut tree
Bureau in the Parlour in Exchange for a Wainscot
Bureau – a Trammell, a flesh forke a Washing
Tub Two Trays Six white Trenchers – a Pair
of fine Sheets – halfe a Dozen Napkins – four fine
Table Cloths – a pair of fine pillow beers – Two pair
Coarse sheets – two pair Coarse pillow beers (all new)
a large white and blue China Dish, halfe a Dozen
Ennamell & China plates and Two small Ditto
Nine white and blue Curdled China plates with
a flower pot in the Middle – Six China Cups and
Sawcers – a Pint China Bason – Two halfe Pint
and Two quarter Pint China Basons – One white
Dish – One Chocolet Colour – Two white and Blue
Dishes – a Burnt In China Dish
Dishes Two Ribbed Dishes, halfe a Dozen
fine Plates and a Brown Bowl of Delft Ware
a Pint Glass Pot two halfe pint Glasses
a Water Glass and Two Glass Beakers – One
Mohogany Tea board – a Great Bible – Six
Walnut Tree Chairs a Pair of Steake Tongs
all the Counters Shelves and a press as now
fix’d in the Shop, with all Weights and Scales
thereunto belonging Witness my hand
