368. Robert SIMMONS of Wivenhoe, Blacksmith. 1723 D/ACW 26/2/47

In the Name of God Amen I Robert Simmons of Wivenhoe in the County of
Essex Blacksmith being very sick and weak of Body but of sound and perfect Memory at
the sealing hereof do this Twenty Eight Day of November in the Tenth year of the Reign of
our Sovereign Lord George of great Brittain France and Ireland King Defendor of the faith
vr Anno dom 1723 Make and ordaine this my last will and Testamt. In Manner and
form following; Item I give and Bequeath unto My Loving wife Rose Simmons the Sum of
Twenty pounds, and the best Bed as it stands the Chest of Drawers two tables one pair Racks half a Chalder
of Coales, one fire pan, Tonges, fender pur and Cobirons, the washing Kettle one small Boyler four
pewter Dishes, six pewter plates, Six Earthen plates. Six Chaires in the Chamber one warming pan
one Skillett one Pauce pan one frying pan one Looking Glass and Tea Kettle, three pair Sheets
three pillowbears two sable Cloths and Six Diaper Napkins, Item I give to My Son Francis, the
Sume of five pounds to bind him out Apprentice. Item I give to my Son William the Sume
of Tenn pounds Item I give unto my Daughter Elizabeth Tenn pounds one bed as it
Stands and the Childbed Linen. Item I give unto my Son Robert, all my working Tools in the
Shop the Coals and all the Iron, and one Bed as it stand, and all the rest of my houshold
goods and Linen not before Bequeathed I give to be Equally parted Between My Son p
Robert, and my Daughter Elizabeth and after all my Debts funeral Charges and Legacyes
are paid and discharged what is then Remaining I give to be parted between my said son
Robert and My Daughter Elizabeth And I do hereby Constitute and ordain My Loving wife and
and my Son Robert to be Executors and Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament. and I do
hereby make void all other former Wills Testaments Gifts Lagcyes and Executors before Made Rattifying
and Confirming this and none other to be my Last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have here
unto set my hand and Seal the Day and year first above Written
