331. William MARTIN of Wivenhoe, Mariner, 1706.  D/ACW 23/154

In the Name of God amen Willi Martin of Wivenhoe in the County of Essex Marriner being
sick and Weake in body but thanks be to God of sound and disposing mind and memory doe make
and declare This my last will and testament to be in manner following I Resigne my soul to Almighty
God hopeing for mercey on the alone Accompt of Christ Merrits and my body I will be Christian Like
buried and of my worldly Etate Goods and Chatles which God in his Mercy hath pleased to Intrust
me with, I give devise and dispose the same as by this my will is Expressed Item I give devise
my Messuage or Tenemt situate in Wivenhoe aforesaid with the Appertenances late in the Occupation
of Richard Humphrey Gent my Grandfather and all that my Messuage Tenement or farme with the
Lands & Appurtenances thereunto belonging called the Boardey barne situate in Fraiting in the sd County
and my Messuage or Tennemnt and Lands lying in Little Bromly in the sd County unto my two sisters Sarah
the wife of John Richman and Elizabeth the wife of Syman Webster that is to say to each of them my
sd sisters a Moyety of the sid Messuages and premisses for and dureing there respective Naturall Lifes
And after their Respective deaths I give the respective Moyety aforesd to my sd sisters Respective
Children and their heirs equally to be divided between them as Tennants in comon and not as Joynt
Tennants and in case both or either of my sd sisters shall dye before their Respective Children shall attain
their Respective ages of One & Twenty years or days of Marriage that then the Respective fathers of
such children as shall be underage or not married shall receive their Respective shares of the Rents &
profitts of the premises for and towards their Respective maintenances tht is to say the daughters till
their sespective ages of Eighteen Years or days of Marriage which shall first happen and the sons to their
respective ages of Twenty One years, and whereas my Grandfather Richard Humphrey in & by his
Last will and testamnt did give unto Mary the daughter of John Richman
the sume of Twenty pounds at the age of Eighteen years (and all & singular the Other Legacies in the sd will-
perticularly mentioned to be paid by me, my will is the said Legacies shall be discharged & answered by my
Exers & supervisors out of the Rents & proffits of my farm in Fraiton Called te bordey Barn, as it shall
become due Item I give unto my kinsman Thomas Martin of Wivenhoe the sume of twenty pounds currant
money to be paid by my exers: at or within six Months after my decease Item I give unto my Aunt
Sarah Martin widow of Fran: Martin of Wivenhoe the sume of Ten pounds currant money to be paid the
my Executrs with in six Months after my decease, and after my debts Legacies & funerall Charges paid the
sest or overpluce of my money: Moveable Goods and Chattles wtsoever & wheresoever Tt in right belongeth
unto me at my decease I give to be equally divided between my sifter Richman & my sister Webster share &
share alike & I doe hereby make & Ordaine my Loving Brothers Jno Richman & Symon Webster my whole & sole
Exers & my Coving Kinsman George Martin supervisor & for his trouble I give him one Guniney to buy him a
ring & I doe hereby make void all other wills legecies & bequests by me formerly made and this only to
be my last will & testamnt In Witness whereof I have her unto sett my hand and seale this Twelfth day
of April in the fifth year of the Reigne of Our sover Lady Ann by the grace of God of England Scotland
France & Ireland Queen defender of the faith Anno dom 1706
