344. Mary CLEAR of Wivenhoe, Widow, 1711.  D/ACW 24/60

In the Name of God Amen I Mary Clear of Wivenhoe in the County of Essex widow being
sick and weak in body but of sound mind and Memory praise be given to almighty God for the same and
knowing the incertainety of this life one earth and being desierous to settle things in order do make this
my last will and testament in manner and form following first & principally I commond my soul
to almighty God who gave it me and my body to the earth to be buried in such Christian and decent
manner as to the discression of my Executors hereinafter mentioned and as touching such worldly Estate
goods and chattels as the Lord in Mercy hath pleased to lend me I give devise ane Bequeath the same
as by this my will it expresses Item my farm and house & Lands lying and being in Fingregoe & now in
the occuspation of Jn Pettet or his assignes with all the appurtenances to the same belonging or apperteying
I give and bequeath unto my Clving daughter Mary Witley the wife of Willi Witley of Wivenhoe aforesaid
Marriner For and dureing the term of her Naturall Life and after her decease I give and bequeath the
aforesd Farm and premises unto my grandson Ambrose Cock the son of Michael Cock Late deceased to
him and his Heirs Lawfully to be begotten of his body and for want of such issue then my will is the
sd house Lands and primses Igive to my grandson Michael Cock & his Hers Forever Item I give and
bequeath unto my sd grandson Ambrose Cock one Large silver tankard Marked with J: M:C and if in case both my
sd grandchildren Ambrose and Mikaell should depart this life before age & without issue then my will is the
aforesaid Farm Lands & premises shall goe to the Heirs of the femaile child or Children of Henry Munts late
deceased.  Item I give and bequeath unto my loving daughter Johanah Hopkins the wife of Tho Hopkins
all and singular this house and premises I now Live in For and dureing the Term of her Naturall Life and
after her decease I give my dwelling house unto my Grandson Robert Mont and his Heirs for ever
and for want of such Heirs then my sd dwelling house I give unto my grand daughters Elisabeth Johanah
& Mary Mont daughters of Henry Mont deceased equally to be devided between them share and share alike
Item I give and bequeath unto the daughters of Henry Mont four payr of holland sheets four payr of holland
pillowbears Two damask sheets a damaks Bord Cloth and Three dusen of Naphins to be equally divided between them shore
and share alike Item I give and bequeath unto my grandson John Witley the son of William Witley by Mary his
wife one small silver poringer & one silver spoon marked with J.M. C. all the Rest of my plate houseall goods
& Linen Brass and pewter except what I have given above so shall be apprised and sold by my executor
within Three Months after my decease and the mony thereof shall pay and discharge my debts & funerall
Charges and if there should be any overpluce mony left shall be equally divided between my two daughters
Mary the wife of Willi Witley and Johanah the wife of Tho Hopkins share & share a like and I do make and
Ordaine my loving grandson Ambrose Cock and my Kinsman Jonathan Cock of Manningtree Baker Executors
of this my Last will and testament In Witness whereof I the sd Mary Clear have hereunto sett my hand and
seale this second day of January in the Tenth year of the Reigne of our sovern Lady Anne by the grace of
God Queen of great Brittaine & Anno dome 1711
