406. Thomas COKER, of Wivenhoe, Seafaring Man, 1736. PROB 11/678/444

In the Name of God Amen
I Thomas Coker of Wivenhoe in the County of Essex Seafaring
Man being sick and weak of Body but of sound and perfect
Memory at the sealing hereof do the fifth day of August One
thousand seven hundred thirty six make and ordain this my last
Will and Testament in manner following First I commend my
Soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it me And my
Body I Commend to the Earth to be decently buryed at the
discretion of my Executors herein after named Item I give devise
and bequeath all my Goods and Chattles Debts Credits and
ready money that do in any wise belong or appertain unto me
at the time of my decease unto my Loving Brother James
Coker of Wivenhoe aforesaid he paying all my just Debts and
Funeral Charges out thereof I do hereby revoke all former Wills
Legacys and Executers heretofore made ratifying and confirming
this to be and contain my last Will and Testament and I do
hereby Order and appoint my loving Brother James Coker and
Thomas Hines of Wivenhoe to be Executors of this my last Will
and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand

and seal the day and year above written The mark of Thomas
Coker Signed Sealed and Published and declared by the said
Thomas Coker, the Testator and we attested the same in his
Presence to be and contain his last will and testament The
mark of Thomas Woodard Susanna Woodard John Potter.

This Will was proved at London the twenty third day
of August in the year of Our lord One thousand seven hundred
and thirty six before the Worshipfull Thomas Waller Doctor of
Laws Surrogate of the Right Worshipfull John Bettesworth Dr
of Laws, Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative
Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of James
Coker the Brother and one of the Executors in the said Will
named to whom administration was granted of all and
Singular the Goods Chattells and Credits of the said deceased
being first sworn duly to administer reserving power to make
the like Grant to Thomas Hines the other Executor when he
shall pray the same.
