323. Mary BRANDISH of Wivenhoe, Widow, 1703.  D/ACW 23/45

On the Name of God Amen I Mary Brandish of Wivenhoe in the County of Essex Widow
being sick and weak in body but of sound and parfect memory praise be given to God for the same
and knowing the incertainty of this life on earth and being desierous to settle things in Order do
make this my Last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say first
and principally & commend my soul to Almighty God my Creator assuredly believing
that I shall receive full pardon and free remission of my sins and to be saved by the precious
death and Merits of my blessed Saviour and Redeemer Christ Jesus, and my Body to the
Earth from whence it was taken to be buried in such decent and Christian manner as to
my executrix hereafter named shall be thought meet and convenient And as touching
such worldly Estate Goods & Chattles as the Lord in mercy hath sent me my will and
meaning is the same shall be Imployed and bestowed as hereafter by this my will is
expressed Item my will is that what wages is coming to me for my Sarvant Jno Roberson
one Boar of her Majts Ship or shipps Frigots or Marchant shipps whatsoever, and all good
and Chatles wherewithall in right belong or Appertaine unto me at my decease
I give to pay clear and discharge all and singular my debts and funerall
Charges and what shall proove or happen over and above the sd debts & funerall
charges I Give and despose into the hands of my loving Kinswoman Sary Redman the
daughter of Sarah Redman widw, providing and being upon this Condition she my sd
executrix pay & clearing all charges and allowing herselfe reasonable sattisfaction
the overplus remaining thereof shall be equally divided between the Children of
my sifter Sarah Redman then Living, and my Brother and sisters Namely With Wilm Taylor
Sary Redman

Namely Richard, Sarah. Mary, Elizabeth. Share and share alike: and of
this my last will and testament I make and Ordaine my loving Kinswoman Sarah
Redman
my whole and sole Executrix dis annuling & makeing void all Other wills
by me foremerly made and this Only to containe as my Last will & testament
In Witness Whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale this twenty sixth
day of July in the second year of the Raigne of Our soveraine Lady Ann by the
Grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland Queen defender of
the Faith And in the year of Our Lord God 1703
two blots in the 23 and 24 lines made at or
before the sealing & delivery hereof

and declared to be the Last will of
Mary Brendish widow in the prsence of us
