299. John CLEER of Wivenhoe, Mariner, 1694. D/ACW 22/34

The last will & testament of me John Cleer of Wivenhoe in the County of Essex Marriner made
this Eighteenth Day of August in the Second Yeare of the reigne of our soveigne Lord & Lady King William &
Queen Mary Annoq D[omi]ni 1690 First I give & bequeath unto my Kinsman Edward Harvey of Wivenhoe
aforesaid Marriner & to his Heires & Ass[igns] forever All those my two third parts of that Coppy hold tenem[en]t
called the Woodyard with the Storehouses & key with the app[ur]tinces holden of the Mannor of Wivenhoe & now in the sevrall
Occupacons of me thee said John Cleer Abraham Newton, Stephen Warren the widdow Feme? & Henry Munt To have &
to hold the said bequeathed premisses unto the said Edward Harvey his heires & ass[igns] for ever And my will is that the said Edward
shall hold & enjoy & take the rents & p[ro]fitts of the third parte of the s[ai]d premisses untill hee shall bee satisfied all Such
monies as I have laid out about the repairs thereof Item I give unto my Cozen John Harber of Colchester & to his heires
forever All that my new mesuage or tenem[en]t (holden of the s[ai]d Mannor) with the Outhouses yards and app[ur]tinces called an undersett
to the Brickd house & now in the Ocupacon of James Edwards or his Ass[igns] To have & to hold the s[ai]d last mencond Messuage
or tenem[en]t with the app[ur]tinces unto the said John Harber his heires & ass[igns] forever, Item I give & bequeath to William Cleer
of Wivenhoe aforesaid Marriner & to his heires for ever All that my other new mesuage or tenem[en]t with the apptinces
holden of the s[ai]d Mannor of Wivenhoe likewise & called an undersett to the Brick’dhouse & now in the Occupacon of Jonathan Rayner or his
Also To have & to hold the said last menconed Mesuage or tenemt with the apptinces unto the said William Cleer his heires &
Ass[igns] forever It[e]m I give & bequeath unto Susan the wife of John Andrewes of Wivenhoe aforesaid Butcher & to the
heires of the s[ai]d Susan for ever all these my two mesuages or tenemts with the apptinces holden of the said Mannors of
Wivenhoe & likewise called an Undersett to the Brickd house & now in the severall occupacons of Henry Hayalyne?
Francis Atkinson or one of them their one of their Assignes To have & to hold the said two last mencond mesuages
or tenemts with the apptinces unto the said Susan Andrewes her heires & ass[igns] for ever But my mind & will is that
Mary my loving wife shall take the rents issues and profitts of all & Singular the above bequeathed Messuages tenemts
& primisses & enjoy? of them for & during her n[atur]all life Item I give & bequeath All that my freehold mesuage or tenemt
lying & being in St. ButtolphsStreet in Colchester aforesaid unto John Smith of Colchester aforesaid Carpenter his
heires & assignes for ever Item I give unto my said wife All and singular my household goods whatsoever Item I give & bequeath into my kinswoman Mary Reade of Wivenhoe aboves[ai]d widdow Sixty pounds of
lawfull English mony to bee p[ai]d her by my Exec[u]t[or]s with six months next after my decease Item I give &
bequeath unto my daught[er]s in Law Joanna Milourne & Mary the wife of Michael Cock of Wivenhoe to each
of them five pounds to bee p[ai]d by my Exects hereaft named All the rest & reside of my personall Estate
w[ha]tsoever & wheresoever not herein before bequeathed (aft my debts legacies & funall charges & I will shall
bee equally divided amongst the said William Cleer Thomas Harber Edward Harvey Susan Andrews &
John Harber brother of  the s[ai]d Thomas Harber share and share alive and I make the s[ai]d Edward
Harvey sole Exetor of this my last will & testamt And thereby revoke all other wills by me made & doe
ordaine this to bee my last will & testament And have signed Sealed & published the same to bee my last will
& testament the Day and yeare above written ./ And I give to the poor of the parish of Wivenhoe tenn pounds
to bee pd & dytributed amongst them at my Execrs disceretion)
