516. William DAVIS of Wivenhoe, Innholder, 1794. D/ACW 36/3/13

This is the last Will and Testament of Me William Davis
of Wivenhoe in the County of Essex Innholder First it is my desire that I may be
decently buried and that all my just Debts and my Funeral Charges and the Expences
of proving this my Will be first paid by my Executrix hereinafter named and after
payment thereof I dispose of the rest of my wordly Estate and property as follows
I give and devise unto my dearly beloved wife Martha All that my Copyhold
or Customary Messuage or Tenement together with the Houses Outhouses Stable
Cowhouse Yards Hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging (and
all which I have duly surrendred to the use of this my will) and which messuage
or Tenement is now in the Tenure or Occupation of Philip Rust, Taylor, as all
the same premisses are situate standing lying or being in the parish of
Wivenhoe aforesaid upon the Quay there and are holden of the Manor of Wivenhoe
Hall To hold to my said dear Wife Martha Davis her Heirs and Assigns absolutely
and forever. Also I give advise and bequeath unto my said dear wife Martha
All the Remainder and remaining Term and Terms of years respectively now
to come and unexpired of and in the Leases of All my three Farms situate in
Wivenhoe aforesaid and which I hold as Tenant under Mr William Sandford
and Mr. William Simons respectively and all benefit and advantage that can or
may accrue thereby together with the said several and respective Indentures
of Lease To hold the said several and respective Farms and premisses together
with the said several and respective Indentures of Lease for all the rest
residue and remainder of the several and respective Term and terms of
years yet to come and unexpired and which I now have therein by virtue
of the said Indentures of Lease respectively in as full ample and beneficial
a manner as I now hold or could hold the same, to my said Wife Martha Davis
her Executors Administrators and Assigns absolutely to and for her and their own
sole and separate use and benefit And as to all the rest reside and remainder

Of my Real Estate and of my Goods Farming Stock on all my Farms Chattels Ready
money Debts and Securities for money plate Houshold Goods Stock in Trade and all
other my Real and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature
Kind or Quality soever the same may be (after payment of my just Debts Funeral
Expences and the Expences of proving this my will) I give and bequeath the same and
every part thereof unto my said dear wife Martha Davis her Heirs Executors Admors
and Assigns to and for her and their own use and benefit absolutely And I do hereby
constitute ordain and appoint my said Wife Martha Davis sole Executrix of this
my last will and Testament hereby Revoking and making void all former and
other Wills by me at any time heretofore made and declaring this to be my last
In witness whereof I the said William Davis the Testator have to this my last
Will and Testament contained in two Sheets of paper to the first street sot my
hand and to this last Street my hand and Seal as also my Seal to where the
Sheets are affixed together at the top this Twenty fourth day of February in the
year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and innety two ://:

Signed sealed published and declared by the above named
William Davis the Testator as and for his last will and Testament
in the presence of us who have here unto subscribed our names
as witnesses there to in his presence at his request and in
