460. John COCKERELL of Wivenhoe, Surgeon, 1763. PROB 11/889/30

In the Name of God Amen
I John Cockerell of Wivenhoe in the County of Essex
Surgeon being in good Bodily health and of sound Mind
And Memory thanks be given to God for the same do
make publish and declare this to be my last Will and
Testament in manner following that is to say First I give
and devise unto my dear and loving Wife Elizabeth
Cockerell all that my Copyhold Messuage or Tenement
wherein I now dwell with all the Yards Gardens passages
Rights privileges and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto
belonging situate and being in Wivenhoe aforesaid all
which premises I lately purchased of John Rayner and Sarah
his wife and which I have duly surrendered to the use of
my Will to hold the same and every part thereof with
their appurtenances unto my said Wife and to her heirs
and assigns forever  Item I will and Direct that all my just
Debts a Funeral Expenses and the Charge of the probate
of this my Will shall be paid and discharged out of
my personal Estate and after payment thereof I give and
bequeath all the Rest and Residue of my Goods Chattels
and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto the
said Elizabeth my Wife to and for her own proper use and
Behoof and I do hereby nominate and appoint my
said Wife sole Executrix of this my Will and do revoke
all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made
In Witness whereof I the said John Cockrell have to this
my last Will and Testament set by hand and seal the
ninth day of December in the twenty seventh year of the
Reign of King George the second and in the year
of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty three
John Cockrell Signed Sealed published and
declared by the said Testator as and for his last Will and
Testament in our presence and in his presence attested
and subscribed by us Sarah Ennew Patrick Coppinger
Saml Ennew

This Will was proved at London on the second
Day of July in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven
hundred and sixty three before the Worshipfull William
Spry Doctor of Laws and Surrogate of the Right
Worshipfull Sir Edward Simpson Knight also Doctor of Laws
Master Keeper or Commissary of the prerogative Court
Of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of Elizabeth
Cockerell Widow the Relict of the said deceased and sole
Executrix named in the said Will to whom Administration
of the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said Deceased was
Granted she having been first sworn duly to administer.
