389. Adam RAYNER of London, Mariner, 1731. D/ACW 27/3/25

In the name of God Amen I Adam Rayner
of London Marriner being forthwith Bound out on a voyage to parts beyond
the seas and not knowing how it may please God to Deal with me, and considering
the perrils and Dangers of the Seas and the uncertainty of this Transitory life and
the Certainty of Death, doe therefore and for the avoiding of all suites and
controversies which might otherwise arise after my Decease make Publish and declare
these presents to containe my last will and testament in manner and forme following That
is to say, First and principally I commend my soul into the hands of almighty God my
Creator who Gave it hoping to be saved, my body I commit to the Earth or Seas as it shall
Please almighty God to order, and as for and concerning all such Wordly Estate as it hath
Pleased almighty God to bless me with in this life I doe hereby Give Devise and Bequeath
The same in manner following, Imprimis I Will order and Direct that my Just Debts
And Funeral Charges (if any) shall be first paid Satisfied and Discharged, Item
all the Rest Residue and Remainder of all and Singular my Goods Chattels Ready moneys
Plate Jewells Lands Tenements Ships Debts and Effects whatsoever both Real and Personal
which at the time of my Decease shall belong or of Right appertain unto me, or which may hereafter
belong or of Right appertaine unto me, I doe hereby Give Devise and Bequeath the same and
every part and parcel thereof unto my loving wife Elizabeth Rayner and to her Heirs Executors
administrators and assigns for Ever, and I doe hereby make nominate and appoint my said
Wife Elizabeth Rayner full and sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament
And doe hereby revoak and make void all former and other Will or Wills, Testament and
Testaments by me at any time heretofore made and I doe ordaine and Ratify these presents
To stand and be for and as my only Last Will and Testament, In Witness whereof I the said
Adam Rayner have to this my Last Will and Testament sett my hand and seal the second day
Of April in the second year of the reigne of our Sovereign Lord George the second King of
Great Britain
