481. William HEMPSTEAD of Wivenhoe, Victualler and Farmer, 1773. D/ACW 33/3/23



In the Name of God Amen
I William Hempstead of thre parish of Wivenhoe in the
County of Essex, Victualer & Farmer, being of sound Mind
& Memory, do make, ordain Constitute & appoint this
my Last Will & Testament heretofore made by me
the said Wm Hempstead to all Intents & Purposes,
Vizt. That is to say I Give Devise & bequeath unto my
two sons John & James Hempstead, and to my daughter
Ann Hempstead all my real and personal estates of
what Nature or kind whatever, all my ready Monies
and all Bills, Bonds, Notes of hand, or any otherwise securities
for mony Lent, all my Book Debts, all my goods and
Chattells, all my Farming Stock, all my Implements of
Husbandry, and Every Thing I die possess’d of at the
Time of my Decease, to be by Them Equally Divided
amongst them, share and share alike of all my Effects
whatever both within Doors and Without, and for the due
Execution and Performance of what I have here devis’d
& Bequeathed, I do hereby ordain Constitute & appoint
my two above mentioned sons John & James Hempstead
and Mr William Graham to be the joint Executors
of this my Last Will and Testament notwithstanding any
Former Wills by me at any time made and hereby

This Will of William Hempstead late of the Parish of Wivenhoe in the county of Essex
deceased was proved on the Nineteenth day of July in the year of our Lord one
thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Three Before the Reverend John Smythe Clerk
Surrogate by the Oath of John Hempstead Son of the said decd one of the Executors to whom
Administration of all and Singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said decd was granted
and committed on the Twenty second day of the same Month he being first sworn
duly to administer power being reserved of making the like Grant to James Hempstead
Son            also of the said deceased and William Graham the other Executors named in
the said Will when they or either of them shall apply for the same.
