550. Richard TURNER of Wivenhoe, Farmer, 1822. D/ACW 40/5/24

This is the last Will and (Testament)
of me Richard Turner of Wivenhoe in the
County of Essex Farmer made in manner following
that is to say First I give and bequeath unto my
dear Wife Susannah Turner All my Household
Goods and Furniture Plate Linen China and other
Effects that shall be in or about my dwelling House
at the time of my decease to and for her own use and
disposal Upon Condition that she do pay unto my
Executors hereinafter named two third parts of such
Sum of Money as the same shall be valued at by some
indifferent person to be employed by my Executors to
make such valuation, within six months next after
my decease Also I give and bequeath unto
Jonathan Turner of West Creeting in the County of
Suffolk Farmer and Edward Walton of the same place
Farmer my Executors hereinafter named All such
Sum and Sums of Money as may be due to me on
Mortgages Bonds Notes of Hand or any other Security
whatsoever And all other my personal Estate and
Effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what
nature or kind soever upon trust that they my
said Executors or the Survivor of them shall and do
as soon as convenient after my decease place out the
same at Interest in such manner as they in their
discretion shall think proper, And do and shall
pay the Interest and animal produce of the same
unto my said Wife Susannah Turner or her Assigns
when and as the same shall be received by them my

said Executors until my youngest Child Richard
Turner shall arrive at the age of twenty six years
she thereout maintaining bringing up and educating
both my said Children And when and as soon as
my said Son Richard Turner shall arrive at the
said age of twenty six years Then upon trust to
pay the sum of One hundred pounds a piece part
of the said principal trust monies unto my Daughter
Susannah Turner and my said Son Richard Turner
which I hereby give and bequeath to them respectively
to and for their own absolute use and benefit, And
after payment of the said two several sums of One
hundred pounds as aforesaid Upon trust to pay the
Interest of the remainder of the said principal trust
monies unto my said Wife for her life provided she
so long continues my Widow and unmarried) And
immediately after my said Wife’s decease Upon
trust to pay the same principal monies unto my
said Daughter Susannah Turner and my said Son
Richard Turner equally to be divided between them
share and share alike at the said age of twenty
six years, And in case of the death of either of them
my said Son or daughter without leaving lawful
issue then I give the whole of such principal money to
the Survivor of them but if either of them should die
leaving lawful & issue before their said respective Legacies
shall become due and payable or the residue be devid
dividable as aforesaid such Issue to take the share of
his or her parent, And in case of the second in

marriage of my said Wife then I direct my said
Executors to pay to her only One third part of the annual
Interest of the Trust monies aforesaid and the remaining
two third parts thereof I direct them to apply for the
benefit of my said Son and Daughter during the life of
my said Wife as in their discretion they shall think fit
And I give and bequeath to my said Son Richard
Turner my Watch when he shall arrive at the age of
twenty six years and in the mean time the same to be
kept for him by his Mother And I hereby nominate
constitute and appoint the said Jonathan Turner and
Edward Wolton Executors of this my Will and
Quardians of my said Children until they shall
arrive at the age of twenty six years And hereby
revoking All former Wills I do declare this to be my
last In Witness whereof I the said Richard Turner
the Testator to this my last Will and Testament have
set my hand and seal this nineteenth day of March
in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred
and twenty two

Jonathan Turner of the Parish
of Wivenhoe in the County of Essex, & Edward
Wolton of the Parish of West Creeting in
the County of Suffolk Executors within named
were sworn to the truth of this Will, & to
the true performance thereof; & that to the
best of their knowledge, & belief the amount
of the Goods, Chattles, & Credits of the
said deceased, is under the Sum of
Seven Hundred Pounds

The Testator died in the
Parish of Wioenhoe
on the 22nd of April
1822
Proved on the 26th day of September in the Year of our
Lord 1822 before the Revd Richard Hoblyn Clrk
Surrog &c by the Oaths of Jonathan Turner &
Edward Wolton the Extors to whom Admn was
granted they being first Sworn duly to administer
