In the name of God Amen I Thomas Brendish
of Weavenhoe in the County of Essex Mar
and Marriner being sick and weak in Body butt of sound perfect and diposemt mind and memory praised be God for itt doe
make and declare this my last Will & Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) First and principally I comitt
and comend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave itt and to his sonn Jesus Christ my blessed saviour redeemer
by and through whose alone meritts I assuredly hope to obtaine full and free pardon of all my sinns and to inherit Eternal
life, and my body I Comitt to the earth from whence it came and as touching the worldly Estate which the lord hath
been pleased to bestow upon me I give devise bequeath and dispose of the same as followeth Imps I will and order that
all my debts and Funerall Expences be forthwith paied and discharged; Item I give and bequeath unto my dear &
Loveing Wife Mary Brendish all my Goods Chattles Shipping ready money Plate Bedding Linnen and all
other my personall Estate of what Nature kind or quallity soever the same bee (My debts and Funeral Expences
being first thereout paied and discharged as aforesaid) And I doe hereby constitute name and appoint
my said Loveing wife Mary Brendish full and sole executrix of this my last Will and Testament and I doe
revoake dissanull and make voide all former and other Wills by me made, In Withess Whereof I have
hereunto sett my hand and seale the seaventh day of January in the Thirteenth year of the reigne of our
soveraigne Lord William the Third by the grace of God King of England Scotland France and Ireland defendr
of the faith & Anno Dm 1701
