594. Abraham ABBOTT of Wivenhoe, Carpenter, 1856. D/ABW 141/3/85

This is the last Will and Testament
of me Abraham Abbott of Wivenhoe in the County
of Essex Carpenter made this Eighteenth day of June
One thousand eight hundred and fifty six  First I
nominate and appoint my Son in Law
William Browne of Wivenhoe aforesaid Rope
manufacturer sole Executor of this my Will And
I direct my said Executor his executors or administrators
as soon as conveniently can be after my decease to make
sale and convert into money as he may think advisable
All and singular my personal estate and effects whatsoever
and wheresoever And I also order and direct
Authorize and empower my said Executor his executors or
administrators as soon as conveniently can be after my
decease to make sale and dispose of all and every my
Copyhold or Customary Messuages lands tenements and
hereditaments either altogether or in one or more lot or lots
And either by public auction or private contract and
under and subject to such conditions of sale restrictive
or otherwise as he or they may deem proper to any person
or persons whomsoever for the  best price and most money
that can be reasonably obtained for the same and the receipt
or receipts of my said Executor his executors or administrators
shall be a valid and effectual discharge and valid and effectual
discharges to the purchaser or purchasers of all or any part
of my said Estates for the purchase money or purchase moneys
respectively or for so much thereof as in such receipt or receipts
shall be expressed or acknowledged to be received and such
Purchaser or purchasers shall not afterwards be answerable
or accountable for the same or for the loss misapplication or
nonapplication thereof but shall be wholly discharged
therefrom And I direct that my said Executor his

executors or administrators shall stand possessed of the clear produce
arising from such sale or sales after deducting all costs charges
and expences attending the same Together with the produce
of my personal Estate after payment of all my just debts
Funeral and Testamentary expences Upon trust to pay and
divide the same unto and equally between my three children
Frances Elizabeth the wife of the said William Browne, my
son Abraham William Abbott and Emma Jane the wife of
William Harlow of Wivenhoe aforesaid Mariner share and
share alike Provided always that if any or either of my
said children shall die in my lifetime leaving issue the
share or shares of such child or children shall not lapse
but shall go to his her or their child or children equally
share and share alike such child or children taking only
the share or shares which his or her or their parent or
parents respectively would have had if living and revoking
and making void all former and other Will and Wills by
me at any time heretofore made I declare this only to
be my last In Witness whereof I the said Abraham
Abbott the Testator have hereunto set my hand the day
and year first above written.

for his last Will and Testament in the
presence of us both present at the
same time who in his presence at his
request and in the presence of each
other have hereunto subscribed our
names as witnesses

Proved on the 8th day of December 1856 before
the Reverend Kennett Champaign Bayley clerk
Surrogate &c by the oath of William Browne the
sole Executor to whom Admon &c was granted
he being first sworn duly to administer

On the Twenty Second Sixth day of November December 1856
William Browne of Wivenhoe in
the County of Essex Rope Manufacturer
the sole Executor within named was sworn
to the truth of the within Will and to the
true performance thereof and that to the best of his knowledge and belief the
amount of the value of the Goods Chattels
and Credits of the Deceased is under the
sum of One Two hundred pounds
