488. George WYATT of Wivenhoe, Shipwright, 1776. D/ACW 33/6/28

In the name of God Amen. I George Wyatt of Wivenhoe in the County of Essex Shipwright
Being of sound mind memory and understanding, and calling to mind the the uncertainty of this Transitory.
Life and that it is appointed for all men once to die, but considering the uncertainty of the time thereof Do
therefore make this my last will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) First
and principally I commend my Soul to almighty God who gave it and my body to the Earth to be decently
Interred at the Discretion of my Executor & Executrix herein after named. And for my Temporal Estates I
Give and Bequeath in manner following (that is to say) first I will and order my fishing Smack called the
Slowly to be sold towards paying my Just Debts and General Charges and the probate of this my will and if
the monies thence arising shall not be found sufficient for the same the Residue to be paid out of my personal
Estate, Secondly I give and bequeath to my beloved Wife Mary Wyatt All and singular my Estates both Real
and personal During the Term of her natural Life and After her Decease to be Disposed of as follows (that is
to say) The one third part of the Copy hold farm hold. called Rowses which I am possessed of at Wigbrow in the said County of Essex now
in the Occupation of Matthew Prentice I give and bequeath to my son George Wyatt and his heirs for Ever and if
the said George Wyatt shall die without Issue my will is it shall be sold and the money thence arrising to be equally
Divided between my son Augustine and my daughter Elizabeth or their Heirs, The Shipyard and House where
I now Dwell and the appurtenances thereunto belonging I give and bequeath to my Son Augustine And his heirs for Ever and never to be Sold by either and subject
to the payment of Two pounds Yearly to my Daughter Elizabeth during the term of her natural Life and if my said
Son Augustine shall die without issue then to my Son George and his heirs and subject to the payment of Two pounds
yearly to my said daughter Elizabeth and if my said Son George shall die without Issue then to me said Daughter
Elizabeth and her heirs for Ever, The Mortgage I have of Two Copyhold Tenements at Great Clacton in the said County
of Essex of John Cross of Saint Osyth in the said County I give and bequeath to my said daughter Elizabeth and the
heirs of her Body Lawfully to be begotten and for want of such issue to be sold and the monies thence arising to be
Equally Divided between my sons George and Augustine and their heirs, The part of the May flower Sloop
Thomas Hammond Master of Tolesbury in the said County I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Wyatt
the Deed of Sale whereof to be Delivered to her on the Day of marriage and if she shall die before marriage then or
Married and dies without Issue then to my wife Mary Wyatt and her Heirs, And the Rest and Residue of my House
hold furniture plate, Linen Ready Monies, Stock in Trade Debts, Dues Bills Bonds and Effects whatsoever to me
belonging I give and bequeath to my loving wife Mary Wyatt And do hereby Appoint my said wife, Mary Wyatt
and my said Son George Wyatt Executrix and Executor of this my Last will and Testament hereby Revoking
and setting a side and making void all former Wills by me made or caused to be made Declaring this one of
be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seal this first
Day of June in the fourth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God
of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the faith &c and in the year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred and Sixty four

George Wyatt of Wivenhoe, Essex, Shipwright.  First I will and order my fishing smack called the Slowly to be sold towards paying my just debts and funeral charges.  Secondly I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary Wyatt all and singular my estates both real and personal during the term of her natural life and after her decease to be disposed of as follows that is to say the one third part of the copyhold farm called Rowley which I am possessed at Wigbrow, Essex now in the occupation of Matthew Prentice I give and bequeath to my son George Wyatt and his heirs for ever and if the said George Wyatt shall die without issue my will is it shall be sold and the money arising to be equally divided between my son Augustine and my daughter Elizabeth or their heirs.  The shipyard and house I now dwell and the appurtenances thereunto belonging I give and bequeath to my son Augustine and his heirs for ever and never to be sold by either and subject to the payment of two pounds yearly to my daughter Elizabeth during the term of her natural life and if my son Augustine shall die without issue then to my son George and his heirs and subject to the payment of £5 yearly to my said daughter Elizabeth and if my son George shall die without issue then to my said daughter Elizabeth her heirs forever.  The mortgage I have of two copyhold tenements at Great Clacton, Essex of John Cross of Saint Osyth I give and bequeath to my said daughter Elizabeth and the heirs of her body lawfully to be begotten and for want of such issue to be sold and the monies thence arising to be equally divided between my sons George and Augustine and their heirs.  The part of the Mayflower sloop Thomas Hammond master of Tollesbury I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Wyatt the deed of sale whereof to be delivered to her on the day of marriage and if she shall die before marriage or married and dies without issue then unto my wife Mary Wyatt and her heirs.  Rest and residue to my wife Mary Wyatt.
