PRO: PROB 11/1082/413. Will of Ann COLE of Wivenhoe, Spinster, 1781.

In the Name of God Amen
I Ann Cole of Wivenhoe in the County of Essex Spinster
being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding
thanks be given to Almighty God for the same do make this my
last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say)
First I hereby order and direct that all my just Debts Funeral
Expenses and the Charges of proving and the execution of this
my Will be paid and satisfied Also I give and bequeath
unto Mr Alexander Bennett of the Exchequer Office in
the Inner Temple London the sum of fifty pounds to be
paid to him within twelve months next after my decease
Also I give devise and bequeath all my real Estate
whatsoever and wheresoever together with the use and
Interest of the residue of my personal Estate of what nature
or kind soever unto my sister Hannah the wife of Thomas
Tumner of Wivenhoe aforesaid Apothecary and her Assigns
for and during the term of her natural life and from and
after the decease of my said Sister I give divise and
bequeath all my said real Estate and the residue of my
said personal Estate under my Brother in Law the said
Thomas Tunmer (in case he shall happen to survive his
said wife) to and for his sole use and disposal but if it should

happen that my said Sister should survive the said Thomas
Tunmer her Husband then and in such case I give devise
and bequeath all my said real Estate and the residue of
my said personal Estate unto her my said Sister her Heirs
Executors Administrators and Assigns And I do hereby make
nominate constitute and appoint the said Thomas Tunmer
and Hannah his Wife and the said Alexander Bennett
Executors and Executrix of this my will and hereby revoking
and making void all former and other Will and Wills by
me at any time heretofore made I publish and declare this
to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I
the said Ann Cole to this my last Will and Testament
contained in one sheet of paper have set my Hand and Seal
this twentieth day of June in the year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred and seventy eight Ann Cole
Signed Sealed Published and declared by the said Testatrix
Ann Cole as  and for her last Will and Testament in the
presence of us who in her presence and at her request
have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses Wm Mason
Rd Dunthorne Thos Beswick

This will was proved at London the twenty
sixth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand
seven hundred and eighty one before the worshipful
Francis Simpson Doctor of Laws Surrogate of the Right
Worshipful Peter Calvert Doctor of Laws Master Keeper
or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury
lawfully constituted by the oaths of Thomas Tunmer
Hannah Tunmer (Wife of the said Thomas Tunmer) the
Sister of the deceased and Alexander Bennett the Ex[ecut]ors
named in the said Will to whom Administration was
granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and
Credits of the said deceased they having been first
sworn duly to Administer ./. Exd
