433. Simon HARVEY of Wivenhoe, Coal Meter, 1747. D/ACW 30/1/6

In the Name of God Amen I Simon Harvey of Wivenhoe
In the County of Essex Coalmeter being sick and weak but of sound and sensible dis=
posing mind and memory praised be Almighty God for the same do make and ordain
this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following First I give
my soul into the hands of Almighty god that gave it hopeing foe remission of all
my sins through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ my Saviour and only
redeemer and my Body to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executrix
hereinafter mentioned and as to those Wordly Estates and goods it hath pleased God
to bless me with I give and bequeath in manner anf form following  First I
give and bequeath to Susannah my Loving Wife all those my Free hold messuage
or Tenements or hereditriments with their and every of their appurtenances scituate
lying and being in the parishes of Saint Leonards and saint Botolphs in Colchester
in Essex and now are in the Tenure or occupation – Bloomfield, Elizabeth Cook
Widow Manning, widow Hussuck and the Widow Hawkins also all that my copyhold
messuage Tennement or Alehouse scituate lying and being in the parish of Little
Totham in the County of Essex aforesaid called or known by the name of the
White horse near Maplegate To have and to hold the aforesaid messuage
Tenements and Alehouse with their every of their Appurtenances for and during
her natural Life and after her decease I give and bequeath all the afore mentioned
Tennements hereditriments and Alehouse with their and every of their Appurtenances
to my two sons Simon Harvey and John Harvey and their heirs lawfully begot
=en of their Bodies Equally to be Divided between them share and share alike
But my Will is that if the above named Susannah my Loving Wife shall after
My decease continue a Widow and shall during that Widowhood (necessity so
Requiring) have occasion to sell or mortgage any of the above mentioned Tenements
or hereditriments or Alehouse that then and in such case it shall and may be
Lawfull for her so to do anything herein contained to the contrary thereof in
Any wise not withstanding I give and bequeath to Simon Harvey my Son Ten pounds
To be paid him by my Executrix one Year after my decease.  I give and bequeath to
John Harvey my Son Ten pounds to be paid by my Executrix the day his
apprenticeship is out.  I give to my said son John Harvey my Silver Watch
and my Will is that my own wareing apparel shall be equally Divided
between my aforesaid two sons Simon and John.  I give and bequeath to
my sister Margaret Wier Two Guineas to cloath her at my decease.  All
the rest and residue of my personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever after my
Lawfull Debts funeral charges and probate of this my Will is fully satisfied
I give and bequeath to Susannah my Loving Wife and I do nominate constitute
and appoint the said Susannah my Loving Wife to be sole and wholly Executrix
of this my Will and revoking all other Wills by me formerly made declare this
to be my Last and Testament Sealed with my Seal dated this fifth Day of
January One Thousand Seven hundred forty and Seven. 1747.
