471. Elizabeth COULE of Wivenhoe, Widow, 1766. D/ACW 32/2/36

In the Name of God Amen I Elizabeth Coule of Wivenhoe in the County of Essex Widow being
in health of Body and of Sound Mind Memory and Understanding thanks be to Almighty God for
the same and well knowing the uncertainty of this Human Life Do make and publish mt last
Will and Testament as follows First I resign my Soul into the hands of almighty God who gave
it me And my Body I Commit to the Earth to be decentlyBuryed at the discretion of my Executors
hereinafter named And as for and Concerning such wordly Estate and Effects which God of his
Infinite Goodness hath bestowed upon me I Give and Dispose of the same as follows (that
is to say) First I give and Devise all that my Copyhold Messuages or tenement wherein
I now Dwell situate in Wivenhoe aforesaid and holden of the Manor of Wivenhoe by Copy of Court
Roll and which said premises I have surrendred to the use of my Will Also I give the Freehold
Tenements adjoining to the said Copyhold Messuage together with the Yards Gardens
Hereditaments and premises with their and every of their Appurtenances now in the
Occupation of myself and John Hinard and Elizabeth Thompson Widow their undertenants
or assigns situate and being in Wivenhoe aforesaid unto my niece Mary the now wife of
Thomas Essex of Colchester in the County of Essex Gardener (late Mary Chandler spinster) and to the
Heirs of her Body Lawfully begotten or to be begotten and for default of such Issue to the Heirs and
assigns of her the said Mary absolutely and forever And after the payment of my just Debts Funeral
Charges and the probate of this my will (out of the personal estate of mine hereinafter
mentioned) I Give and Bequeath All my Household Goods and Furniture, Plate, Rings, ready
Money, Bills, Bonds, Book Debts, or any other securities for money and all other my personal
Estate and Effects whatsoever that I shall dye possessed of Interested in or Intitled unto to be
equally parted between all my own Brothers and Sisters share and share alike and in case
any of them should happen to dye that the part or share of him her or them so dying without
Child or Children shall go to the survivor or survivors of them share and share alike and if
any of them shall dye leaving Child or Children that such Child or Children of him her or them
so dying shall have his her or their part and share to be equally divided between them
share and share alike And I do hereby make nominate and appoint my brothers William
Baker
and Richard Baker Executors of this my Will, so revoking and making void all former
And other Wills and Testaments by me heretofore made I do declare this only to be my last
Will and Testament contained in this one sheet of paper In Witness whereof I the said
Elizabeth Coule have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty first day of January
in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and sixty five.

This Will was proved on the First Day of November in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Six Before the Reverend Charles Lind
Doctor in Divinity Surrogate &c by the Oaths of William Baker and Richard Baker Brothers of the deceased and Executors to whom Administration of all and
Singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased was granted and committed on the Sixth Day of the said Month of November they being first sworn
duly to Administer.
