505. William WEBB of Wivenhoe, bricklayer, 1784. D/ACW 35/1/8

In the of God Amen, I William Webb of Wivenhoe in
the County of Essex Bricklayer being of sound mind memory and
understanding  Do hereby make and Ordaine this my Last Will
And Testament in manner and form as follows.
First and Principally I commend my Soul into the Hands of
almighty God and my Body to the Earth to be decently Buried
at the Discretion of my Executrix hereinafter mentioned and as
to my Worldly Effects, I Give and Bequeath them as follows
I give and Bequeath to my loving wife Susannah Webb, all that
my freehold House wherein I now reside together with the premises
thereto belonging.  Also, a Coal Yard a Granary, a Gardeners Shop
a small Warehouse, with my right to the Quay facing the same
Also Three dwelling Houses, occupied by John Lightman, John Blyth
and by Joseph Neale, and which premises, together are situate
Being and lying in Wivenhoe aforesaid and are holden of the said
Manor by Copy of Court roll, – – – – the same for her to have
possess and enjoy and disposes of at her will and pleasure
I also Give and Bequeath and immediately after my Decease
the following Estates to my sister Rachel Webb of Witham in the
County aforesaid spinster, Vizt first the joint tenements Occupied
by John Chiswick , — Sherlock, one by Mary Robinson, one by
Joseph Chiswick, one by George Harman, one by the widow Harlow
and one by – Naylor.  All which tenements are copyhold and
holden by the aforesaid Manor and are situate in Wivenhoe aforesaid
for her to possess and enjoy as her own, but if in case she should die
before my Wife Susannah Webb, then the same and evert part thereof
are to Go to my said wife Susannah, and to be at her Disposal

And I do Hereby nominate Constitute and appoint
my Loving Wife Susannah Webb Sole Executrix of this
my last Will and testament in Trust for the purposes
aforementioned Hereby revoking all former Wills by me before
made or caused to be made.  Delaring this to be my last Will
and Testament and which is wrote upon two sheets of
common writing paper and sealed by me at the
corner of each sheet this thirtieth Day of October in the
year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred & Seventy

are herunto subscribed as witnesses, did see
the said William webb sign and seal the
same at the Request of the saidTestator
and in the presence of each other

And by this annexed Codicil I further Will and order that
the freehold Tenement Bequeathed to my Wife Susannah in the
forepart of my Will after her Decease shall Go to Elizabeth
Chandler of Hyam in the county of Suffolk and her Heirs for Ever

sworn to the Truth of this Will & to the due Performance
thereof before me John Smythies

And that the whole effects of the deceased do not amount
to one hundred pounds sworn before me

The said William Webb died on the 16^th of January 1784 in the
Parish of Wivenhoe in the County of Essex.

Oath of Susannah Webb Widow Relict of the deced & the sole Executix
to whom admon &c was Granted she
being first sworn duly to Administer
