333. Abraham NEWTON of Wivenhoe, Carpenter, 1707.  D/ACW 23/203

In the Name of God Amen I Abraham Newton Sen of Wivenhoe in the
County of Essex Carpenter being sick, but (thanks be given to Almighty God) of sound & disposing
mind & Memory do make and ordain this my Last Will & testamt in manner following
Impris I Commit my Soule into the hands of Almighty God who gave it hoping thro the merits
of my Blessed Saviour Jesus Christ to inherit Eternal Life And as touching that Temporel Estate
it hath pleased God to bestow upon me I dispose thereof as follows viz Impris I give and devise
unto my Son Abram Newton & his heirs for Ever All that messuage where I now dwell & my other
Mesuages in the Several Occupations of my said Son Abram John Talbot & Thomas Philips with
the Orchard Yards gardens & appternences to the same & any of them belonging which said premisses
are situate & being in Wivenhoe aforesaid Item I give unto my said Son Abram my Clock
and also the Bed as it stands in my Hall Chamber, & my Two Coppers & all my Brewing vessells
& Utensils with all my Hogsheads & Casks Item I give to my daughter Mary Carter Widow
Twenty pounds to be payd by my Exter hereafter named within Six months next after my decease
Item I give unto my daughter Elizebeth Smith five pounds Item I give unto my daughter
Martha Newton One hundred pounds to be payd by my Extors hereafter named within Six
months after my decease Item I give & bequeath unto my Son John Newton One hundred
pounds to be payd within one year after my decease by my Extors hereafter named. Item I give
unto my said Son John Newton all my one sixteenth part of the Vessell whereof John Harvey
goeth Master under God, & my one sixteenth part of the Vessell whereof John Peal sen
goeth Master, together with all my parts & interest in the Stock rigging Boats & apptenences
belonging to the sd Vessells or ship or either of them Item I give unto my daughter Mary
Carter Martha Newton & my Son John Newton all my household goods except those before
disposed of equally to be divided between them share & share alike Item all the Rest &
Residue of my goods Chattells Bills Bonds Mortgages Credits & personal Estate whatsoever
after my just debts my afore bequeathed legacies my funeral Expences & probate of this
my Will first payd & discharged I give unto all the Children of my Son Abram Newton equally
to be divided between them share & share alike and I do constitute & ordain my said son
Abram Newton and my said daughter Mary Carter Executors of this my Will So revoking
all Wills by me formerly made I declare this to be my Last Will & Testamt In Witness
whereof I have hereunto Set my hand & Seal in the sixth year of the Reign of Queen
Anne over England & Annoq Dom 1707.
