In the Name of God amen January the second
Anno Domini 1727/8 I John Durrel
of Wivenhoe in the County of Essex Mariner
being weak of Body, but of sound & perfect
senses; do make constitute and ordain
this my Last will & Testament in form
& manner following.
Item I give my Soul into the Hands of al-
Might God and my debts & Funeral
charges being paid & discharg’d.
Item, I give & bequeath the whole substance
of my Estate, to wit all my Household
goods, moveables, money, plate Linen
& all things else in my possession
together with my Vessel call’d the John &
Elizabeth of Wivenhoe, of wch I am
in present possessn, & the master there
of to my Loving Wife Elizabeth
Durrel
– to her & to her Heirs abso-
lutely for ever.
Item I do nominate & appoint my said
loving Wife Elizabeth Durrel to
be the full & sole Executrix of this
my last Will & Testament
