399. Michael CLARKE of Wivenhoe, Cooper, 1734. D/ACW 28/2/1

In The Name of God Amen I Michel Clarke of Wivenhoe
In the County of Essex Cooper being Sick and weak of Body but of
Sound and perfect memory at the sealing hereof do this Seventeenth
Day of Decembe in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred
Thirty and four do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament
In manner and form following first I Commend my Soul into the hands of
Almighty God who gave it me:  And my Body I Commend to the Earth to
Be decently Buried at the Discretion of my Executors herein after named
And as touching such wordly Estate as it hath pleased God to Endue
Me with I dispose thereof as followeth.  And I do hereby order all
My Just Debts and funeral charges, and the probate of my Last will and
Testament to be first paid and discharged but if it shall so happen
That the my Goods, Chattles, and assets do not amount to the full paying
And Discharging of my said Debts and funeral Charges as aforesaid then
My will and pleasure is and I do devise and order all that Messuage or
Tennament (Lying in West Street in Wivenhoe aforesaid in the occupation of
Jonathan Howes together with the appurtenances to be sold by my Executors
Herein after named for the best price they can get and the money arising
thereof shall be imployed to the paying of my Debts as aforesaid and if
anything remain after I give the same to my Daughter Deborah
Hopkins.  But if it shall so happen that my Goods and Chattles are
Sufficient to pay and Discharge all my Debts as aforesaid then I
Give Devise and bequeath all my said Messuage and Tenement together
With the appurtenances thereunto Belonging Scituate in Wivenhoe aforesaid
Unto my Daughter Deborah Hopkins and the heirs of her Body Lawfully
Begotten absolutely and for Ever.  And if it shall so happen that my Goods
And Chattles are Sufficient to pay and Discharge all my Debts as aforesaid
Without selling my part of the vessel whereof William King is Master
Then I Give the same unto my son George Clarke and Lastly if any
Thing remain out of my Goods and Chattles when my Debts are paid the
Same I Give to be equally parted between my said son George and
My Daughter Deborah Share and Share alike And of this my Last
Will and testament I make Constitute and ordain my friend
Peter Robinson Common Brewer;  my son George Clarke and my
Son in law Robert Hopkins to be Executors of this my Last will
And Testament:  revoking all former and other Wills testaments and
Executors hereto fore made Rattifying and confirming to be and
Contain my Last Will and Testament as is written on the other
Side hereof and and twelve words on the other side in the hoo? Last Line
Are first razed out In Witness Whereof I the said Michael Clarke
The Testator have hereunto[o] set my hand and seal the day and year
