382. Mary WHITLEY of Wivenhoe, Widow, 1728. PROB 11/625/12

In the Name of God Amen
I Mary Whitley of Wivenhoe in the County of Essex Widow and
Relict of William Whitley late of Wivenhoe aforesaid deceased being
In health and perfect memory doe the twenty second day of
February in the nineth yeare of the reigne of our soveraigne Lord
George of Great Brittaine France and Ireland King Defender of the
Faith &c Annoq Dom 1722 make and ordaine this my last Will and
Testament in manner and forme following Item I give and bequeath
unto my son. Ambrose Cock and his heires lawfully begotten of his
body All my copiehold Messuage lands and premises with the
appurtenances holden the Manner of Fingrinhoe by Copie of
Court Roll my said Sonn Ambrose Cock to take care and bring upp my
Son Abraham Whitley untill he shall attaine to the age of Fourteen
years or otherwise to pay out of the aforesaid Copiehold Messuage
lands and premisses before bequeathed to him the sume of Thirty
pounds to my sonn Michael Cock for him to take care of my said son

Abraham Whitley as aforesaid Butt but if it shall so happen that my said son
Ambrose Cock shall dye and leave no issue then I bequeath the aforesaid
Copiehold Messuage lands and premisses with the appurtenances unto
my sonn Michael Cock and his heires lawfully begotten of his body
and after his decease for want of such heires I give and bequeath the
same Copiehold Messuage lands and premisses with the appurtenances
unto my two sonns John and Abraham Whitley and their heires
forever  Item I give unto my son Ambrose Cock and one Gold Ring Item
I give unto my daughter Elizabeth Cock my best suite Of Crape
Cloathe Item I give to my Granddaughter Elizabeth Cock one Silver
spoone and one Saucer off hood? Item I give unto my sonn Michael
Cock my best bedd as it stands the best Chest of Drawers and six
Chaires two gold rings one Silver Spoone mark’t with M M and
my part of the Stoeboate Nett and Boat Item I give unto my sonn
John Whitley the Close Bedd and bedding as it stands Item I give
unto my sonn Abraham Whitley one large Silver Cupp one Silver
Salt and Silver Dram Cupp Item I give unto my Sister Hopkins my
best black hood Item I give to my two kinswomen Joanna and
Mary Munt all my head lynnen betweene them and each of them
one suite of Cloaths Item I give to John Lee Rector of Alsford one
Guinea to buy a Ring And all the rest and residue of my goods
lynnen and money nott herein before bequeathed (after my debts
and Funeral charges are paid and discharged) I give unto my three
Sonns Michael Cock John Whitley and Abraham Whitley to be
equally parted between them And I do hereby constitute and
ordaine my loveing sonn Ambrose Cooke and John Lee of Alsford
Rector of be Executors of this my last Will and Testament In
Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the day
and yeare first above written the marke of Mary Whitley the
Signed Sealed published and declared by the said Mary Whitley the
Testator to be her last Will and Testament in the presence of Rob
